it is an interesting article written by an Indian Economist

Japanese save a lot. They do not spend much. Also Japan exports far more than it imports. Has an annual trade surplus of over $100 billions. Yet Japanese economy is considered weak, even collapsing. Americans spend, save little. Also US import more than it exports. Has an annual trade deficit of over $400 billion. Yet, the American economy is considered strong and trusted to get stronger.

But where from do Americans get money to spend? They borrow from Japan , China and even India . Virtually others save for the US to spend. Global savings are mostly invested in US, in dollars. India itself keeps its foreign currency assets of over $50 billions in US securities. China has sunk over $160 billion in US securities. Japan 's stakes in US securities is in trillions.

Result: The US has taken over $5 trillion from the world. So, as the world saves for the US, Americans spend freely. Today, to keep the US consumption going, that is for the US economy to work, other countries have to remit $180 billion every quarter, which is $2 billion a day, to the US! Otherwise the US economy would go for a six. So will the global economy. The result will be no different if US consumers begin consuming less.

A Chinese economist asked a neat question. Who has invested more, US in China, or China in US? The US has invested in China less than half of what China has invested in US. The same is the case with India. We have invested in US over $50 billion. But the US has invested less than $20 billion in India. Why the world is after US?

The secret lies in the American spending, that they hardly save. In fact they use their credit cards to spend their future income. That the US spends is what makes it attractive to export to the US. So US imports more than what it exports year after year. The result:

The world is dependent on US consumption for its growth. By its deepening culture of consumption, the US has habituated the world to feed on US consumption. But as the US needs money to finance its consumption, the world provides the money. It's like a shopkeeper providing the money to a customer so that the customer keeps buying from the shop. If the customer will not buy, the shop won't have business, unless the shopkeeper funds him. The US is like the lucky customer. And the world is like the helpless shopkeeper financier. Who is America's biggest shopkeeper financier?

Japan of course. Yet it's Japan which is regarded as weak. Modern economists complain that Japanese do not spend, so they do not grow. To force the Japanese to spend, the Japanese government exerted it self, reduced the savings rates, even charged the savers. Even then the Japanese did not spend (habits don't change, even with taxes, do they?). Their traditional postal savings alone is over $1.2 trillions, about three times the Indian GDP. Thus, savings, far from being the strength of Japan, has become its pain.

Hence, what is the lesson?

That is, a nation cannot grow unless the people spend, not save. Not just spend, but borrow and spend. Dr. Jagdish Bhagwati, the famous Indian-born economist in the US , told Manmohan Singh that Indians wastefully save. Ask them to spend, on imported cars and, seriously, even on cosmetics! This will put India on a growth curve.

A new semester commence , finally we r going to ply with some 3D stuff ~ Maya
Here my timetable for this sem
Monday - Photography , Concept Art 1
Wednesday - 2D Animation 2
Friday - 3D Modeling Basics
Saturday - SEA Culture

Wht so suprise me ( actually is expected), our fellow lecturer Jason had told us the reason that we paid our fee so much~ Each computer in 3D lab is freaking high end , i think the most advance computer in ToA , each rig at least cost 8k+ , a Maya license will cost more than rm10k alrite 20k gone just for paying this stuff , and the software seems not easy to handle , i think its 100times more function than photoshop , but will get used soon , im lagging doing it at home , tat is totally unexpected~

We r doing flash animation in 2D Aniamtion PART 2 , using tablet to draw frame , pretty much more easier than traditional i think , can using software to control a lot of thing without doing it manually.

Oh yea , almost forget abt marker rendering , tat shit really cost alot money , spent almost 300 for for color marker , some commonly used marker can be easily gone juz for 2~3 assigment ~ which is SADDDD

To be continue.....

Alrite~ Im now on "prelude" of Digital Animation , entering year 2 sem 1 , the real challenge goes on~ I think i didnt make mistake for entering this major although i hope to learn everything in ToA (and yet i am so lazy), and still there are alot things i dont know yet and they just surprise me so suddenly , i recall the reason im at ToA for Majoring in DG , i want to do animation (aka make things alive~) but another influence frm games (greatest frm Ubisoft - Assassins Creed~)i did games alot while im working. Well , still images (photo , digital painting , graphic design) also gave me huge impact which lead me into a T-Junction , duno which one to go on~ bcoz ther r lots of fun ther~ Mayb im juz too "consequence" , that's why fall into the ToA , i can rarely see the works from others university or colleges , i got no $ going to UK (but i know im bullshitting , just i cant afford those hardworking , im lazy~~) Alrite forget about it , im now @ year 2 already , there are no turning back , but i can see people start to leave and leave one by one , some change their major , some just leave.

There are 5 subjects in this sem , im suprised you just require 2 subjects , Drawing for Animation , 2D Animation to live on , this two are heavy subject if want to some good work "belum cuba belum tao" 2D Animtion require lots of experimental for a good work , there are alot theory need to apply in animation to make animation looks good , imagine 25fps. Why does Pixar's works looks good , because they are tweak frame by frame , they r no PURE CGI , manually tweak is very very important.

Other than that , what we doing in Drawing in Animation render spaceship/robot with marker (holy sh!t , freaking expensive , next sem going color summore~~!@#!@#)A simple explainatin to describe wht we r doing is ~ we r doing drawings in order to communicate with others animators , only with visual (every view , function etc). But sadly , due to demand of the market (!@#$#) we need to design mechanism with alot transformation , although its unnecessary to be , in order to make our fellow audience thinks "wow its cooooooooooool" i juz dun understand why "Transformer 2" this kind of retarded movies so hot~~~ mayb juz bcoz Megan Fox too Hot~~ Im more towards Matrix's APU kinda robot deisgn , i like it , gundam is too unlogical , fully ball joint , it can move so freely , juz with ball jointsssss , but im not yet phobia of gundam yet.

But sadly , mayb im lack of drawing skill , im doing job quite slow , every drawing require alot of touch up , there r no more shortcut like foundation year , drawing something ok is a pain ass for me. Mayb juz i sleep too much , actually i sleep quite alot , if my calculation correct , i might sleep more than 6hrs per day , unlike my others , but still tired.....duno why~~ or mayb im doing job to chill... or mayb im looking too high , looking at those beautiful pieces by others professional , and looking back to my work~ oh nooooo , and i cant give myself excuse "bcoz they r professional" or mayb im juz my thinking too negative~

What else , moral - X Typo ~ its fun , if not mistaken this is the end of my design class~ noooooooooooooo~~ cartoon ~ dun felt like doing it , juz keep chill and chill due to stupid lecturer haiz.....

Imagine u r walking on a street , and suddenly a lot of flash flashing u , definitely will catch your attention what is going on!?Here is an adv frm nikon in Korea

"At first glance, the image above may look like a regular poster advertisement much like those we see scattered around town, but in actuality this ad is more then that. Those flash strobes you see? Well they're real, and they get triggered by an external sensor whenever anyone passes by. Located in one of Seoul's busiest subway stations, this Nikon ad has garnered so much attention that it even won a bronze award in the Cannes Lions 2009 International Advertising Festival. "
